Community Corner

Waltham's 3rd Annual Say Hi to Your Neighbors Week, March 1-8

For the last two years, REACH Beyond Domestic Violence has organized a week of events across Waltham encouraging community members to meet new neighbors and build relationships with those we haven’t seen in a while. REACH believes that connecting with neighbors can break down the isolation that people experiencing violence often feel at the hands of their controlling partners.

We have a great group of community members that are planning a full schedule of activities like free coffee at the train station, Meet the Social Media, and brand new this year – A Say Hi Scavenger Hunt. Sign up for the Scavenger Hunt here. All are planned to get together and have a lot of fun socializing.

In addition to the activities REACH plans, you and your neighbors can plan events to get to know one another. Some ideas include a dinner party, game night, movie night, having a block party, or just inviting someone over for coffee. These connections could someday give someone the strength to reach out for support, and may give you the helping hand you need someday too.
