Reading Symphony Orchestra Fall Concert

Welcome to the Reading Symphony Orchestra’s Fall Concert

The theme of this season's concert programs might be called "Vintage Classics", as we will present some of the greatest and most well-loved masterworks ever written for orchestra.

The Fall Concert, on November 17th, 2013, under the direction of Roland Vazquez, will open with Edvard Grieg's hauntingly beautiful "Varen", for string orchestra, in which we perceive with particular intensity the composer's genius for evoking the musical romanticism of the Nordic world. Featured on the second half of the program will be one of the most widely known and beloved of Romantic masterpieces, Dvorak's 9th Symphony, "From the New World", written and premiered in New York City, where Dvorak lived and worked for many years. We are very excited to be able to present, also for the November concert, one of the most promising young violinists in the Boston area: sixteen-year-old Yuki Beppu. She will be performing another exciting Romantic classic, the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. Her maturity of approach and depth of expression will be an enchantment for all of us.  Please join us on Sunday November 17th at 3:30pm at the Parker Middle School, Temple St. in Reading.  Tickets are available at the door or by calling 978 664-5614.  Prices are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, children under 12 are free. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS LOCATION IS DIFFERENT THAN THE USUAL VENUE.
