Winter is Here! Nature Adventure and Open House

Please join Apple Valley Montessori School for a very special Nature Adventure and Open House from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.  Apple Valley's school naturalist, Stephen DeFlorio will lead a one-hour family hike to explore the habitats surrounding the school. Winter is coming!  Have you wondered how various animals get ready?  With Stephen we will explore migration, hibernation and staying active.  He will also lead us on some fun forest activities (perhaps we will find a log to peer under and see about life underneath that log; reach into a nature magic bag and take a guess at what it is).  We will play fun games and maybe sing some related nature songs!

The Nature Adventure will leave promptly at 1:05 (rain or shine) and go for an hour. During the adventure, children will be able to participate in these nature activities that are part of the Nature Curriculum at Apple Valley. There's no cost to participate in this program but children need to be accompanied by an adult to participate. Please dress for the weather. We recommend a backpack for carrying younger children.  A snack will be served to all guests after the Nature Adventure.

After the adventure you will also have the opportunity to tour the school, visit our beautiful classrooms and meet Apple Valley's highly qualified teachers and current parents.

Apple Valley Montessori School is an independent, co-educational, Montessori day school in Sudbury, Massachusetts serving children ages 14 months to 12 years.

Our Toddler, Primary and Elementary Programs are based on the authentic philosophy and work of Maria Montessori. By nurturing the development of the whole child's readiness, interests, and learning style, the education at Apple Valley fosters each child's positive self-image, problem solving skills, and ability to make choices in an academically challenging environment.

Apple Valley was founded in 1983 on the belief that a school should be run on the basis of what is best for the children in it. We work hard to ensure that each child has the opportunity to develop and grow in a way appropriate to that child. We measure our success by the experience each child has each day at Apple Valley.
