WALTHAM DEMOCRATS TO ELECT DELEGATES TO STATE CONVENTION

Registered Democrats in Waltham will be holding caucuses for all Wards (1 through 9) at the Northeast Elementary School, 70 Putney Lane, Waltham on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 10:00AM to elect 27 delegates and 27 alternates to the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s 2013 Platform Convention. This year’s State Convention will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell. Delegates to the 2013 Massachusetts Democratic Party Platform Convention will debate and adopt a new party platform. Starting this year, the Massachusetts Democratic Party will also hold a Youth Convention for high school organizers.

The caucuses are open to all registered Democrats in Waltham, and the Waltham Democratic City Committee warmly welcomes participants. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women, and all ballots will be written and secret. In the spirit of inclusion, youth, minorities, and people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be “add-on” delegates.

The Waltham Democratic City Committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month (except July and August) at the Waltham Government Center Auditorium, 119 School Street (at the corner of Lexington Street), Waltham, at 7:00PM. (The February meeting will be on February 7th due to Valentine’s Day.) For more information on the caucus or the committee please contact Robert G.
