The Best Seat in the House

Eight chairs on display in the Great Hall exhibit a range of styles, time periods, and materials. Each chair was chosen because it displays a unique feature such as the chair that converts to a set of library stairs. Some look surprisingly contemporary.

Also available is a café with coffee, tea and hot chocolate. For sale.

Many more chairs including several once owned by Christopher and Rebecca Gore are exhibited in room settings as they might have been originally in 1816 and may be seen as part of the mansion tour for which there is an admission for the tour.
