Embracing Our Journey: Your "Self" is a Wellspring of Hope

Presenter: Jacqueline “Jackie” M. Sitte, RN, CARN, LADC I,

Transformation is the natural unfolding of a human life. It is to become that which we truly are-the Self that God has called us to be. (Cardwell Nuckols,Ph.D) Transformation is Jesus’ message to us. He demonstrated it thru His actions & has left a path for us to follow to take us to God.

This day will begin by exploring Attachment Theory and understanding the impact that is active in our lives. When we attune to others we allow our own internal state of shift, to come to resonate with the inner world of another. Attuned Attachment is an emotional bond to another person (Bowlby, ’69). Attachments are a “lasting psychological connectedness between human beings”. Another important implication of attachment research is that it’s possible to develop a secure state of mind as an adult, even in the face of a difficult childhood. Remember, as adults that you may have some difficult memories of your own. One of the characteristics is avoidant attachment which is seen in adults who have difficulty with intimacy & close relationships. This day will assist thru music, teaching, scripture, visual imagery, reflections, sharing, handouts, experiential exercise as a calling to begin to fashion the “you” that God has called forth.
