Academic Summer Camp at Top Banana!

We are super excited to be holding our summer camp again this year!

The program is offered at our Newton location from June 23rd through August 8th for children ages 6 (entering 1st grade in September) through 10 (entering 5th grade in September). The hours are from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. Extended day is available. The minimum enrollment is for one week.

At Top Banana, we know how important it is for students not to lose what they had learned during the past year and to be prepared to go back to school in the Fall. Our summer camp program helps students stay on top of their math facts, vocabulary, reading and writing skills throughout the summer so they can head back to school in September with confidence. We equally believe that summer is the time for having fun and re-energizing for the challenges ahead.

Each day will be filled with activities that are both educational and fun! We'll begin each morning with a reading circle. Children will listen and practice reading out loud to their friends. A discussion will follow to help us hone our reading comprehension skills. While at the playground playing hopscotch and ring toss or dribbling a ball, we'll be learning some cool mental math techniques. Handwriting practice, print for the younger kids and cursive for the older ones, will also be a part of our daily schedule. With guidance from our teachers and counselors, the campers will learn and practice winning strategies for the games they already know, and many new ones - card games, board games and puzzles. Of course, no camp experience would be complete without arts and crafts!
