Waltham Mayor Jeannette McCarty has endorsed Peter Koutoujian in the race for the 5th U.S. Congressional seat, according to the Koutoujian campaign.
Koutoujian, who is also the Middlesex County Sheriff, said he is proud to have McCarthy's support.
“I’m proud to have the endorsement of my hometown mayor, Jeanette McCarthy,” Koutoujian said. “In addition to being a great friend, as mayor of Waltham she has been a dedicated public servant to the city I have always called home. I could not ask for a stronger boost heading into the last weekend of the race.”
Koutoujian faces Democrats State Sen. Karen Spilka, Katherine Clark, Will State Sen. Brownsburger, Martin Longs, Paul Maisano and State Rep. Carl Sciortino in the Oct. 15 primary election.
