What Should Go In This Empty Waltham Building?

The former Coldwell Banker site is ripe for a new tenant!

We are at 702 Main St. for this week's , the former site of Coldwell Banker.

The building is located in a high-traffic downtown area accessible by bus, foot, car or even the nearby Commuter Rail.

City zoning regulations allow for the site to be used as a drive-thru, retail stores and restaurants among other things.

What do you want to see move into the site? Tell us in the comments section below.

No one should go into this building. It will be demolished as part of the giant 1 Moody St redevelopment. It's been delayed several times so I'm not sure about the current start date.

A cool boutique hotel, with a jazz/contemporary music bar downstairs, meeting rooms, retail shops, rooftop pool and balconies on the sweetest suites!

There is already a development plan for this building. What does this phrase even mean: "City zoning regulations, which incorrectly refer to it as 1 Moody St.,..." Zoning regulations don't refer to specific addresses. The buildings at One Moody and 701 Main are on the same piece of property, in a Business C zone. Retail is allowed by right here, but drive-thrus are not - they are only allowed if the CIty Council approves a special permit request. The building is accessible by bike as well as the other modes mentioned. Does anybody actually research Patch articles?

The new plan for the site is a multilevel building block with a courtyard of parking, I believe. I see no drive-thru. As the previous poster noted, they are only available by special permit. It is NOT just a matter of course that such a permit is passed.

Thanks for pointing out the plans. Also, despite the maps saying it is it "1 Moody St.," it is not. It is known as 702 Main St. It says it on the front of the building and on online listings. But, yes it is on the physical plot known as 1 Moody St., that's not how people know it. Also, yes, we did research this. I am pretty familiar with how zoning regulations/permits work. Yes, you are correct about the drive-thru, but for brevity sake and to avoid confusing readers (some of whom don't know how permits/zoning work), I wrote it as both being allowed because, in fact they are allowed.

How about a performing arts center? This would be fabulous for Waltham!

Does a developer own 702 Main already? Can we learn more about the proposed plan? Also, how about 200 Moody?
