Snowstorm Nemo Heading For Waltham; Huge Snowfall Expected

Meteorologists all agree that snowstorm Nemo could dump huge amounts of snow on Waltham and surrounding communities, but the exact number of inches is anybody’s guess.

As of 9:40 p.m. on Feb. 6, WCVB-TV was forecasting 32.3 inches of snow for Waltham by 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, while WHDH-TV was forecasting 16 - 24 inches. The National Weather Service was forecasting 18 - 24 inches. 

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for Waltham and surrounding towns from Friday night through Saturday morning.

According to the watch, "The worst of the storm will be Friday night into Saturday morning," with snowfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour possible. "Travel may become nearly impossible with blowing and drifting snow."
