Zumba Fitness®—the global, multimedia
brand that fuses fitness, entertainment and culture into a dance-party
lifestyle—has announced the launch of the Zumbini™
program, its first-ever program for newborns.
As part of the rollout, Laura Fritz was trained as a Zumbini™ instructor; she teaches Zumbini™ at 738 Main Street (Acrobatic Rock-n-Roll Academy) in Waltham every Saturday at 9:30 - 10:15 AM.
Just like all Zumba programs, this new class combines movement and music toward improving overall health and well-being through Zumba’s “exercise in disguise” parties.
The Zumbini™ program—designed for infants ages 0 to 3 and their caregivers—is a merger of child-science development and the magic of the Zumba program. Zumbini™ classes take the youngest of Zumba fans on their first steps toward a healthy, active life by pairing adults and young children to wiggle, sing and learn via the bonding experience. Participants utilize festive props, instruments and a mixture of kid-friendly tunes that reflect Zumba’s signature world rhythms. And upon registration, participants receive the “Zumbini™ bundles” that include a songbook and class music for kids to take the experience home.
The Zumbini™ program focuses on caregiver-child interaction and the critical years of a child’s life—the early stages of development,” said Ashlee Cramer, who is leading the launch of the newest Zumba® program. “We incorporate music to engage little ones and encourage them to express themselves through movement and play. Those early years can be so significant in promoting healthy, active lifestyles that they’ll take with them as they grow into adults.”
