Waltham Lumber to Advertise on Sunday's World Cup Game

Waltham Lumber, the long-established building materials dealer on Main and Massasoit Streets in Waltham, will be airing a TV commercial on this Sunday’s much anticipated World Cup Soccer game between Team USA and Portugal. The game will be televised on ESPN starting at 5:30PM.

“Our company has successfully used television advertising as a way of getting our message to builders and homeowners,” said Tom Derderian, Vice President and Marketing Director. “We’ve tended to run our advertising on the premier Boston sports telecasts including full season sponsorships of the Red Sox and Bruins, but when Comcast came to us with the availability on Sunday’s World Cup game, we jumped on it as a way heightening our advertising audience to the broad group of loyal soccer enthusiasts in our area who live for this once every four year event.”

In addition to promoting their own company, Waltham Lumber’s TV advertising allows them to showcase some of their product lines, which include AZEK®, James Hardie® and Johns Manville, all of which appear in the commercial.

Sunday’s game is expected to draw a big television audience. While Team USA is obviously the local favorite, Portugal team features Cristiano Ronaldo who is considered by many to be the top player in the world.
