Waltham Child Care Firm Buys Brookline Business

Care.com, of Waltham, has purchased Brookline-based Parents in a Pinch.

Through the web, Care.com, of Waltham, matches families and corporate clients with caregivers to 7 million users in 15 countries, according to the Globe. Parents in A Pinch currently provides backup child care services to parents if regular caretakers can’t show up.

Parents In A Pinch will move its 15 employees to Care.com’s Waltham office and has no plans for layoffs, according to the Globe. Parents in A Pinch co-founders Barbara Siegel and Davida Manon will continue to the run the firm.

Also, the deal will have Care.com offer more services to companies such as Google and Facebook. Also, Care.com will offer its services to existing Parents in A Pinch clients.  

Other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
