Plans for Waltham Starbucks Cancelled

Plans for a , Asian restaurant and a bank at the intersetion of Trapelo Road and Lexington Street have been cancelled, according to the .

Waltham City Clerk Russ Malone confirmed that the developer had submitted a letter of intent to withdraw plans for the entire development at 1019 Trapelo Rd. Malone said no reason was given, but the developer, Daniel Yu, can refile his plans at a later date. 

The will vote on whether to approve the withdrawal at its Monday, Aug. 7 meeting at . The meeting starts at 7 p.m.

The development plans, , garnered some support, but also some concern over traffic. If built, a Starbucks location would have been the city's first. A previous effort to build one failed in 2003.
