Urgent care centers, in general, are not common in Massachusetts but are showing up in more state communities, according to the Boston Globe. The centers typically provide medical care much at a cheaper cost than a traditional hosptial, according to the paper, which reports that Doctor's Express charges insurers $130 per patient visit. The centers are intended to treat patients with important issues that don't require a trip to an emergency room.
