In A Pickle Aiming to Reopen Soon

In A Pickle plans to reopen on Moody Street soon.

Your craving for In A Pickle food will have to wait a little bit longer, but hopefully not much longer. 

Tim Burke, owner of In A Pickle, a popular Waltham restaurant, is wrapping up a months-long renovation project at its new 265 Moody St. location and is aiming to reopen on Monday, April 15, or Tuesday, April 16. The restaurant is waiting to undergo three different inspections before it can reopen, Burke told Waltham Patch during an interview at the new spot. 

In A Pickle recently closed its former Main Street location to move into the larger Moody Street location.

After months of work, Burke said he is eager to reopen and see his friendly customers again. He hopes the new space will mean a shorter wait time for customers or even immediate seatings. 

"Our customers have been amazing," Burke said. "My hope is we don't have a wait."

The new space is a big improvement on the old and much smaller Moody Street space. It has around 90 seats, about 50 more than the prior location, Burke said. It will also offer a bar table with beer and wine. 

The new location will also bring upgrades. Burke said he purchased a new digital ordering system instead of continuing to use paper tickets to track orders. Burke also purchased new kitchen equipment. 

Burke, who said he bought the former Asian Grill business that previously occupied the site, fully renovated the space. The walls feature a two-tone pattern of green and light blue. A black sign awning with the In A Pickle logo adorns the front of the building. Steel chairs line the aisles along with large booths. 

While the new location offers the opportunity for many changes, Burke said he plans to keep the menu and most other aspects of the business the same for now. However, Burke plans to add espresso coffee and lattes to the menu in the future, as well as eventually offer dinner service. 

For now, Burke is just eager to get back to doing what he loves — providing tasty food. 

"I just want to open," he said.
