Former Polaroid Site in Waltham Could Get Hotel

Former Polaroid site could would include retail and office space.

The developer of the is trying to add a hotel to his plans, according to the Boston Globe.

Developer Sam Park told the Globe in a Sunday, June 24 article, that he is seeking to add 1 million more square feet to the project which already includes plans for office and retail space.

Park, however, has to generate a plan to keep the traffic out of the city’s residential neighborhoods. Park told the Globe he could have up to two hotels.

Just what Waltham needs - another hotel. Why not throw in a bank and a CVS or Walgreen's for good measure?

I am 100% in favor of hotels and office parks along 128. As long as they are near on and off ramps to 128, they don't impact the city too much and they provide a ton of revenue.

The hotel idea is not replacing the Market Basket plans.

How about a bakery? Stores like T.J. Maxx and CVS have no souls.

The hotel does not replace any plans for the Polaroid site. It is in addition to existing plans.

The town needs to approve some sort of direct to 128 on/off ramp situation otherwise it will destroy traffic in that area. Traffic is already sort of tight there. Love seeing the development though. As long as they don't over do it, this could be a great boon to the city and visually on 128.
