Waltham Man Charged with Attacking Woman on Boston Esplanade
The 49-year-old man will be arraigned at Boston Municipal Court on Monday.
A Waltham man is facing charges for indecent assault after State Police caught him in the process of sexually assaulting a woman on the Esplanade in Boston on Sunday morning, according to several sources.
Joseph Barthel, 49, of Waltham, will be arraigned at Boston Municipal Court on Monday on one count of indecent assault and battery, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. State Police troopers arrested him after witnessing attacking the victim around 1 a.m. near the Longfellow Bridge, according to the DA's office. The victim was taken to a hospital but as not seriously injured, according to the Boston Globe.
