Situation at Waltham Bank Is Over

The incident is under investigation in Waltham.

UPDATE: 5:35 p.m.: At 2:37 p.m., Waltham Police received a call from the alarm company for the People's United Bank on Main Street stating the roof hatch alarm had been tripped, according to Waltham Sgt. Tim King. Officers responded to the scene, with guns drawn, and took up positions around the bank and on the roof, King said. Also, the alarm company told police the motion sensors inside the bank had been tripped. 

At around 4:30 p.m., officers in tactical gear entered the bank, along with a K-9 unit, searched the facility, and found nobody, King said. 

Police are working to determine what triggered the alarms and the incident is under investigation. Nobody was hurt during the incident

UPDATE, 5:32 p.m.: 
The situation at the bank is over with nobody hurt.

Waltham Fire Ladder 1 is on scene with at one officer and one firefighter on the roof of the People's Bank in Waltham. Uniformed and plain-clothed officers standing in parking lot behind the bank and officers on every corner outside of the bank.

Waltham Police K9 Unit is also on scene. The North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council is also on scene. 

Parking lot is taped off with caution tape but traffic is flowing down Main Street with almost no delay. 

Grant Street is blocked of at the McDonalds.

Waltham Police, with rifles drawn, are at the scene of some sort of situation at People's Bank in Waltham.

A large crowd has gathered at the bank next to the McDonald's on Main Street.
