Crews Responding to Route 128 Crash in Waltham


UPDATED, 8:09 p.m.:
A Medflight helicopter has landed to pickup the victim of the crash on Route 128 southbound, according to scanner reports. State Police say the crash was serious and that both sides of the highway are closed.

Waltham Police are closing ramps near the crash site to clear a landing zone for a MedFlight helicopter, according to scanner reports.

Waltham firefighters are responding to a car crash on Route 128 southbound, according to Twitter traffic. 

A car struck a tractor-trailer truck, according to various tweets. Massachusetts State Police say the two righthand lanes near exit 28 have been closed and motorists should expect delays. 

There is no word on injuries.
