Robert Downey Jr. Spotted Shooting Film in Waltham

Robert Downey Jr. greeted fans on Tuesday at the set of his new movie, "The Judge."

Robert Downey Jr. was back in Waltham on Tuesday on the set of his upcoming movie, "The Judge."

At around 3 p.m., Downey Jr. was outside of the former Wires Department building on Church Street greeting fans and issuing autographs. Afterward, Downey Jr. went into the building to work. The building's interior has been renovated into a set of a police station.

The movie tells the story of an attorney, Downey Jr. who returns to his hometown for his mother's funeral only to discover his father, a judge, played by Robert Duvall, is a suspect in a murder case, according to the Boston Globe. The movie also features Vincent D'Onofrio.

On July 19, the movie shot scenes at Children's Hospital in Waltham and then moved to Moody Street on Monday. The movie is set to continue shooting at the Church Street site on Wednesday. 

The movie has also been filming in Dedham and Belmont recently.
