Waltham Animal Control Checks on Injured Duck

The duck has a broken beak.

Waltham Animal Control recently checked on a duck with a broken beak (pictured above).

The duck appeared healthy otherwise and still has both halves of its beak, allowing it to eat, according to animal control’s Facebook post.

Animal control said it would keep an eye on the duck.

Just repeating what is in the tweet isn't much of an article. Surely there's some research, interviewing, to find out how common such injuries are, possible causes, etc? Maybe find out how animal control found the duck, what they patrol etc. There's more ads on the page than article.

That's just how the young ducks are wearing their beaks these days - you know - just to get attention and freak out their parents.

Trust me my little duck (Minnie mouse) is well cared for. I have been feeding her for about a year now and eats quite well when I float food in her water and put a bowl full of cracked corn down for her. She is fine and will be always fed by me so let her be free to live as a little duck with a big attitude. Thank you! Animal control knows who I am! lol
