Trouble for Route 128 Gas Stations

The company is suffering financial issues.

The pumps at two service stations on Route. 128 could be drying up, for now.

According to the Boston Herald, McDonald's corporation is seeking to evict the operator of the two gas stations on Route 128 in Lexington and Newton for failing to pay rent and offer gas. McDonald's leases the two sites from the state and subleases the gas operations, according to the Herald.

However, the gas operators, A & E Route 128 North and A & E Route 128 South, filed for bankruptcy hours before McDonald's issued an eviction notice. According to the report, the gas operators have not paid rent in nine months and failed to offer gas on Oct. 28. McDonald's is seeking a court order to evict the operators.
