Patch Picks: Places to Watch Red Sox-Yankees

The Red Sox season might not have started out the way you like, but there is a chance to turn it around in a big way this weekend against the arch-rival Yankees. Here's a few places to take in the action.

  • - This bar in Watertown is your classic Boston neighborhood bar with a great assortment of bottled beers and beers on tap. It also features an extensive menu of bar food. The mac and cheese is a customer favorite at Nickels, but everything is worth sampling. The Yankees-Red Sox divisional match-up will be playing in “The Caboose,” the function/dining room that features a 60 inch-high definition flat screen television.
  • Bison County  -  The menu, which features favorites such as catfish nuggets and sweet corn fritters - is consistently excellent and keeps patrons coming back.  The bar, however, prides itself on it’s award-winning bison burgers and large collection of beers from around the world. The plethora of food and drink available make this a great place to come back to if you have already been, or to experience for the first time.
  • - This centrally located tavern in Watertown will be displaying the big game on twelve plasma flat screen televisions. To top off the fun, they will be serving an all-you-can eat wings special for $10.99. The wings come in a variety of flavors, buffalo style, honey barbecue, bourbon orange finger and Halfway Cafe’s famous “Buzz Sauce.”
  • - The “Wave” in Waltham features 25-cent wings and $2 Budweiser select drafts for the Red Sox-Yankees clash.  Eight 42-inch flat screen televisions are available in the bar area, as well as other places to watch.
