John J. Lennon, WWII Vet and Waltham Resident Died

Lennon was 88.

John J. Lennon, a Waltham resident and Newton native, died on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at Winchester Hospital, according to the Herald. 

Lennon, after returning from World War II, worked at the Raytheon company in Waltham. He is survived by Karen Pontonio of Waltham and Woburn resident Marianne Milner, David Lennon of Waltham and Michael Lennon, a Florida resident. His two sister, Rita Lloyd and Phyllis Lennon of Woburn also survive him.

A funeral mass is scheduled for 9 a.m. at the Sacred Hearth Church in Waltham on Tuesday, Oct. 23. He will be buried at Mt. Feake Cemetery in Waltham.
