WinterWyman and Franciscan Hospital for Children Partner on Special Art Project

Brighton, Massachusetts (December 2, 2013) — WinterWyman, a recruitment firm headquartered in Waltham, MA and Franciscan Hospital for Children, a pediatric rehabilitation facility in Brighton, MA, have partnered together on several occasions to help support the Hospital’s volunteer needs.  

Recently, the organizations came together for a very special art project.

Representatives from WinterWyman traveled to the Franciscan campus in October to spend the day with several students from the Hospital’s Kennedy Day School.  Working together, they created a large acrylic painting for the WinterWyman offices in Waltham.  The children used their wheelchairs to create the artwork by rolling over paint placed on a 6’ canvas in the school’s gymnasium.  Although the students had created wheelchair paintings in the past, this was by far the largest canvas they had ever worked on.  Concentrating faces, laughs and delight radiated from the kids – as well as the Kennedy Day School teachers and the WinterWyman staff.

After the canvas was framed, WinterWyman CEO Bob Boudreau and Kennedy Day School Librarian Catherine Miller helped unveil the painting to the students who helped create it and to celebrate with them.  Each child came up to feel the paint and tread marks and to admire their hard work.  It was a special morning.  The painting was then transported to the WinterWyman’s Waltham offices and hung in a special place with a plaque commemorating the day and the Hospital.
