Walk For Hunger set to May 4 in Boston
Project Bread’s 46th Walk for Hunger is Sunday May 4, 2014. This 20-mile walk is the largest walk event in the state, bringing more than 40,000 people together each year to raise more than $3.5 million to support Project Bread’s work to end hunger in Massachusetts. The Walk route weaves through Boston, Brookline, Newton, Watertown, and Cambridge, and includes entertainment and free snacks along the way.
Last year, 186 Walkers from Waltham raised more than $29,000 for the Walk. These funds support more than 400 community food programs across Massachusetts, including six programs in Waltham. These programs include the Waltham Boys & Girls Club, Middlesex Human Service Agency, and Community Farms Outreach, Inc.
Registration is now open—you can walk, volunteer, and donate at www.projectbread.org/walk, or call 617-723-5000 for more information. If you or someone you know is struggling to put food on the table, please call Project Bread’s FoodSource Hotline at 1-800-645-8333.
