OBITUARY- Julie Ruth Collins

Julie Ruth Collins, 59, of Gloucester, formerly of Waltham, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014.
Born in Waltham on July 30, 1954 she was the beloved daughter of the late Philip R. and Eleanor (Sykes) Collins.

Julie attended Waltham Public Schools and graduated from Waltham High School. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

Previously, she worked in the Student Accounts Office at Bentley College in Waltham. For over twenty years, she… has been employed as the Bursar for Salem State University.

A longtime Gloucester and Long Beach resident, she was an active supporter of the Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester.

Survivors include her sister, Linda M. Fantasia of Chelmsford, formerly of Carlisle, her niece and nephews, Neil, Jennifer, and Patrick Fantasia, and several cousins. She was the sister of the late Philip R. Collins, Jr. of Easton and aunt of the late Kevin Fantasia.

Funeral will be held on Monday, June 16th at 10:45am from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, CONCORD CENTER, followed by a funeral Mass at 12 noon in St. Irene’s Parish, 181 East Street, Carlisle.

Interment will be private.

Visiting hours are Sunday, June 15th in the Dee Funeral Home from 4 to 8 pm.
