OBITUARY- Clifford "Red" Bradley

Clifford “Red” Bradley, 96, of Lincoln, formerly of Waltham, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Concord Health Care Center.  He was the beloved husband of the late Jeanette E. (Campobasso) Bradley.

Born in Waltham on December 4, 1917 he was the son of the late Harry and Margaret (Duffy) Bradley.  He attended Waltham public schools and graduated from Waltham High School in 1937.

During World War II he served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army, European Theatre of Operations, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal.  He was one of five World War II veterans who recorded their war experiences in an oral history project sponsored by the Lincoln Boy Scouts.

For many years, prior to his retirement in 1987, Mr. Bradley worked as a carpenter for several companies including Waltham Watch Company and the Concord Public School, Maintenance Department. 

A longtime Lincoln resident, he was a Communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Lincoln where he served as an usher for 54 years.   He was a member of the American Legion serving as Post Commander, was a Call Fireman for 43 years for the Town of Lincoln and a member of the Lincoln Fire Association.

Survivors include his sister, Margaret Clinch of Waltham and several nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by 8 brothers and sisters.

Funeral from the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, CONCORD CENTER will be held on Wednesday, May 28th at 8:45 AM followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 142 Lincoln Road, Lincoln at 10 AM.

Interment will be held in Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln where officers of the U. S. Army will present military honors.

Visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center will be held on Tuesday, May 27th from 4 to 8 pm.  Officers of the Lincoln Fire Department will serve as honor guard at the funeral home visitation and church service.

Contributions in his memory may be made to American Legion Post #84, P. O. Box 484, Lincoln, MA 01773.
