MIDDLESEX SAVINGS CHARITABLE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS NUTRITION PROGRAMS FOR ELDERS
With help from a Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation grant award, nearly 1,000 seniors over the age of 60 in the towns of Needham, Newton, Waltham, Wellesley, and Weston will benefit this year from Springwell’s Nutrition Programs, including home delivered meals, community dining sites and nutritional counseling for seniors at risk of malnutrition.
Springwell is a local, non-profit organization that has been successfully creating, managing, and coordinating services for seniors, people with disabilities and those who provide care since its founding in 1977. We accomplish our mission to help people maintain their independence by deploying an expert staff to deliver a significant array of more than 20 services and programs including Case Management & In-Home Services, Supportive Housing, Protective Services, Nutrition Services, Information & Consultation Services, Healthy Living Workshops, Caregiver Support, Money Management, and Friendly Visitors/Medical Escorts.
The Middlesex Savings Foundation was established in 2000 to carry out further the philanthropic mission of Middlesex Savings Bank by supporting the communities served by the Bank. Over the past 13 years, the Foundation has provided more than $2 million in grants to over 200 nonprofit organizations, supporting services, and programs in a wide variety of fields, including education, and basic human services. Since the inception of the Foundation, Middlesex Savings Bank has funded the endowment with over $11 million in contributions.
