Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston to Host PRISM Awards Gala

– The Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB) will host the 2013 PRISM Awards Gala on October 30th, 2013 at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, MA. The Awards Gala will celebrate achievements in building and design by providing live entertainment and creations from several renowned chefs of Boston and the Greater Boston Area. Additionally, the event will support a worthy cause, as a portion of ticket sales will be donated to Housing Families Inc. in memory of Steve Twombly.

The biennial PRISM (Prestigious Results in Sales and Marketing) Awards are open to builders, developers, project owners, architects, land planners, marketing/advertising firms, interior design firms, remodelers, and other professionals in the home building industry to recognize achievements in building and design. To be eligible, submitted projects must be active between June 2011 and June 2013. With 49 different categories available covering a wide range of project types, the Awards Gala will recognize craftsmanship and professionalism from all divisions of the industry.

The evening will commence with a cocktail reception featuring samplings from four distinguished area-based chefs: Paul Wahlberg of Alma Nove, Hingham, MA; Jeremy Sewall of the Island Creek Oyster Bar, Boston, MA; Tiffani Faison of Sweet Cheeks, Boston, MA; and Greg Weinstock of Salvatore’s Restaurant, Boston, MA. The variety of different cuisines Additionally, live entertainment will be provided by the Dave Macklin Band, a premier live dance band of New England.

“Interest in the PRISM Awards continues to climb, as the number of entries for 2013 has far surpassed previous years,” said Gerry-Lynn Darcy, Executive Officer at BRAGB. “The Awards Gala will be an excellent way for professionals from all sectors of the industry to network and celebrate while being treated to a variety of the different tastes of Boston.”

Attendees of the event will also be supporting an admirable cause with their ticket purchase, as a portion of all PRISM Awards Gala ticket sales will be donated to Housing Families Inc., an organization that works to end family homelessness by providing safe temporary shelter and quality affordable housing to homeless and at-risk families. This donation will be given in memory of Steve Twombly, Publisher of Boston Globe Media’s Design New England, who sadly lost his courageous battle with brain cancer earlier this year.
