Belmont Savings Sponsors 27th Annual Sheep Shearing Festival at Gore Place

Belmont Savings Bank announced it will sponsor the 27th annual sheep shearing festival at Gore Place. The festival, featuring a variety of farm animals, handmade crafts and live music, will be held on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m.-5p.m.

Belmont Savings will provide several activities including a cash cube from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Belmont Savings Cash Cube gives participants an opportunity to capture flying dollar bills, with the percentage of the obtained dollars supporting a local cause.

Attractions at the festival include demonstrations of sheep shearing, herding dogs, spinning and weaving and a crafts fair with more than 60 crafters. In addition, there will be live music, traditional English dancing, an historic military encampment, traditional crafts and more. Entrance to the annual festival is $15 per person with children 12 and under free.

Residents are encouraged to stop by any Belmont Savings branch from April 22-25 to win free tickets to the festival. Entrance to the ticket raffle is free.

Bank staff will be on hand during the festival.  Additionally, visitors can enter to win a Bose Sound Link speaker, courtesy of Belmont Savings.

Gore Place is located at 52 Gore Street in Waltham, off Route 20. The festival will occur rain or shine.
