Alice Hoffman Gifts $50,000 to Mount Auburn Hospital's Hoffman Breast Center

On February 25, 2014, friends gathered to celebrate author Alice Hoffman and her most recent gift of $50,000 to the Mount Auburn Hospital’s Hoffman Breast Center. This gift in honor of Breast Surgeon and Director of the Hoffman Breast Center, Susan Pories, M.D., was commemorated with a plaque naming the Breast Care Coordinator’s office at the center and with an intimate luncheon with hospital leadership. Alice Hoffman committed the advance for her latest non-fiction book ‘Survival Lessons’, her own experiences and thoughts on breast cancer to the center. Mount Auburn Hospital and everyone at the Hoffman Breast Center are deeply grateful for Hoffman’s continued support and commitment to their life saving work for women in our community. Since finishing her own treatment for breast cancer 15 years ago, Hoffman has dedicated her own time and money helping to establish the Hoffman Breast Center. To date thanks to her selfless work, over $2 million has been raised for the Hoffman Breast Center.
