Rex Trailer and Sgt. Billy Reunite For The Holidays!

It’s that time of year again when old friends get together.  On Sunday, Rex Trailer and his longtime sidekick Sgt. Billy O’Brien will reunite for a special holiday coffee hour  at the Café on the Common in Waltham.

Since signing off WBZ-TV in 1974, Trailer and O’Brien continued hosting trips with Crimson Travel around the world through the mid of the 1990s and still to make personal appearances together.  Today O’Brien has his own wealth management company in Sandwich, Massachusetts.

“What most people don’t realize is, Sgt. Billy was a real U.S. Cavalry sergeant,” Trailer notes.  O’Brien was a member of the Caisson platoon of the 3rd U.S. Infantry at Arlington National Cemetery.  Upon discharge in 1966, with banjo and uniform in hand, O’Brien landed the spot on “Boomtown.”

The Boomtown Duo will perform songs, tell stories and sign autographs at this last stop on “Rex Trailer’s 2012 Tour.”  all Boomtownies welcome!
