Joseph P. Policape, a native of Haiti and an United States citizen, will read from his most recent volume of published poetry, "A Beautiful Agony: Visionaries & Freedom Fighters in Haitian History." More About City of Waltham Public Library
The Waltham Public Library was founded in 1865 when Francis Buttrick, a Waltham citizen, donated enough money for the library building to be constructed. Its collection includes more than 155,000 books and 400 magazines and newspapers, with plenty of space to quietly sit with them. The audio/visual collection houses a whopping 22,000 CDs and 18,000 DVDs and video tapes.
The library is open seven days a week and allows members to access their accounts on their home computer. Metered parking is available behind the library.
