This eight-session program, offered at Gann Academy, Waltham fosters thoughtful discussion with a skilled facilitator Laila Goodman and a community of parents who, like you, are experiencing the joys and challenges of raising a teenager.

Laila Goodman has been teaching biology for over twenty-five years, first as a public school teacher and for most of her career in independent schools. Since 2005, she has taught biology at Gann Academy. She is currently the school’s dean of students. She leads a liberal minyan and a meditation group, and also teaches tefillah at the religious school of Temple Ahavat Achim in Gloucester, Massachusetts, her beloved town. Laila and her husband Barry Moir have two college attending children, one dog, one cat and six chickens who don’t reliably lay eggs.

Founded in 1997, Gann Academy features a large modern campus with plenty of parking. It also has an athletics program offering soccer, cross country, basketball, baseball, tennis and lacrosse.
