The Belmont Democratic Town Committee is sponsoring an event to discuss the race for Governor's Council, District 3, which includes Watertown. State Senator Will Brownsberger will discuss the Governor's Council and its important in Massachusetts.

The three Democratic candidates - Marilyn Devaney (incumbent), Charlie Shapiro, and Harry Margolis - will then have the opportunity to introduce themselves and answer questions from the audience. 

The Governor's Council, also known as the Executive Council, of Massachusetts is a popularly-elected board which gives the governor advice and consent with respect to nominations of judicial officers, appointment and removal of notaries public and justices of the peace, and issuance of pardons and commutations.
