Help rid the Paine Estate's historic garden of the highly invasive weed, garlic mustard. The plant is now young and easy to pull. Great activity for families! Wear long pants/sleeves, sturdy shoes and work gloves if you have them. We’ll provide instructions, trash bags, water (you bring bottles), and garlic mustard pesto recipes!

More About Stonehurst: The Robert Treat Paine Estate
Stonehurst is located on Robert Treat Paine Drive, which is off of Lyman Street. Construction of the home was completed in 1886. It became the property of the City of Waltham in 1974.
Stonehurst was the summer home of Robert Treat Paine and his wife Lydia Lyman Paine. It was designed by local noted architects Henry Hobson Richardson and Frederick Law Olmsted. If the name Frederick Law Olmsted sounds familiar, it is because he designed some of the most famous parks in America, including Central Park in NYC, the grounds surrounding the U.S. capitol in Washington and the Emerald Necklace located throughout Boston.
You can visit the grounds year-round during daylight hours. See below for hours of Stonehurst itself. Admission is $3 as of 2010, but children and members of Friends of Stonehurst are free. Please contact the office during business hours to discuss group tours or rental of the property for special events.
