The fourth annual Ice Cream Social at the Waltham Public Library will be on Wednesday, July 11, at 6:30 PM on the library lawn. Hear trhe lively sounds of the Moody Street String Band free of charge. Four flavors of Lizzie's Ice Cream cups will be on sale for one dollar each. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs and dancing shoes. A rain date is set for June 18th. More About City of Waltham Public Library
The Waltham Public Library was founded in 1865 when Francis Buttrick, a Waltham citizen, donated enough money for the library building to be constructed. Its collection includes more than 155,000 books and 400 magazines and newspapers, with plenty of space to quietly sit with them. The audio/visual collection houses a whopping 22,000 CDs and 18,000 DVDs and video tapes.
The library is open seven days a week and allows members to access their accounts on their home computer. Metered parking is available behind the library.
