Zdeno Chara Visits Waltham For A Good Cause

Many fans lined up to see Chara.
One of Chara's youngest fans was thrilled to see him.
The official Boston Bruins mascot joined Chara at BJ's to greet fans.
"This is my first appearance and it's been really great meeting all these parents and kids that are donating these pj's to families that can't afford it, and it's been a really nice thing to be involved with," Chara said.
"With the schedule we have with practices, traveling, games, we don't have to many chances to be connected with fans and children and this is one of the opportunities we have and I'm enjoying it," Chara said.

Nearly 300 fans came out to greet Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara when made an appearance at  BJ's Wholesale Club, in Waltham on Friday afternoon. Chara happily signed autographs, spoke with his fans and donated to a pajama drive sponsored by the Cradles to Crayons organization. The organization's aim is to give all of the PJ's donated by Chara and his fans to for children in need throughout the state.
