What Should Go Into Empty Waltham Video Store Site?

Former Hollywood Video site could become several different types of stores.

Drive down Lexington Street and you will notice the empty spot which Hollywood Video used to occupy.

This week’s edition of Visions For Vacancies brings us to that site, which has been empty for at least a year.

The site sports a large parking lot on a heavily-traveled road. It is accessible by vehicles, pedestrians and MBTA buses. The building is 7,676 square-feet, but can be split into two spaces, according to a 2010 real estate listing.
According to city zoning regulations, it could be used for a private school, funeral home, retail store or other uses.

What do you want to see go into the site? Leave you thoughts in the comment box below.

I would like to see the main st. Dunkin' Donuts move to that location. The enticement could be to allow it to be a 24 hr. location. It has better pkg. and would give it's patrons who work a 3rd shift a safe place to go. (next to the police/fire station)
The main st. is very congested when busy and accounts for alot of extra traffic in the
area.

Dunkin' Donuts is directly across the street at the site of the old Moe Black's.

Why do you ask these questions...?
How many examples must I recite to show you that these large parcels must first be approved by the city first....?
I count the seconds until you rush to the city's defense as usual.

In a previous forum about the property near Embassy Park, I commented in favor of a recreational facility for bowling/other games, etc.; perhaps the (closed) Hollywood Video site would be more practical; already a DD in the same area; a 'good old American' comfort food diner could also increase the draw of visitors and prospective residents to (or back to) Waltham; give existing residents an opportunity to contribute memorabilia, photos, memories from their lives to make it a 'step-back-in-time' or 'revolving clock' diner!! Would love a bagel place like a finnagle or something. Kind of fits a gap between dunkin's and pannera. That's a pretty good location for something like that.
