Warren Up in Polls, Herald Endorses Brown: Who's Winning?

Who do you think has the momentum coming into these final days of the election campaign?

Democrat Elizabeth Warren is up by five points over incumbent Republican Sen. Scott Brown in the latest WBUR/MassINC poll of the U.S. Senate race in Massachusetts. That's a near-total reversal of the last WBUR poll, which on Oct. 9 (right after the first presidential debate) had Brown up by four points.

In fact, Warren has been trending upward in most recent polling. The New York Times' FiveThirtyEight blog has Warren up by four in an average of recent polls. The blog, which uses advanced statistical modeling akin to baseball sabermetrics (think Moneyball) gives Warren an 89 percent chance of winning the election.

But Brown's got some significant energy on his side as well. He's been barnstorming the state with political luminaries like Sen. John McCain and today won the Boston Herald's endorsement.

So what do you think? Who has the momentum coming into the final two weeks of the election? Do the polls in liberal-leaning Massachusetts mean anything to you, or will Brown's high-profile support sway the electorate? Give us your prediction in the comments below!

If the people of Massachusetts vote this woman into office it shows how much our Commonwealth has sunk. A proven liar who has never even held office in town government should never even be considered. I was a Democrat but just can't do it anymore.

if Professor Warren, (the inspirational source of the Occupy movement by her own words), has not inspired a majority of voters to her side by this time, she will likely have a hard hill to climb by election day, in my view.

Some people may not like it - I didn't like it in 2010 when they showed a Republican landslide, being a democrat - but what the pollsters say is usually very close to the end result. Candidates up around 5 in this many polls this close to election day don't lose unless a major gamechanger happens late.

And although Warren hasn't held elected office, I think her oversight role with TARP and the consumer financial protection bureau shows her to be more than qualified for a senate seat - and shows that if we send her to Washington, she'll be a fierce advocate for those of us not rich enough to hire lobbyists or fund SuperPACs.

You must have forgotten that the Globe had Martha Coakley up by 9 a couple of days befopre the election. It is clear that the Ny Times and Boston Globe can never be trusted to deliver an honest poll.

Scott Brown's involvement with the New England Compounding Company underscores what Elizabeth Warren has been saying about corporations and their high-priced lobbyists having influence that ordinary citizens don't have. Brown signed on to a letter urging the FDA to change its interpretation of current law restricting pharmacies to delivering drugs to patients whose names are on the prescription, so that companies like NECC could ship bulk to doctors and clinics. NECC was bulk shipping in violation of Mass. law and laws of other states, and the company was already in trouble with the FDA. Six weeks after the letter, the owner of NECC hosted a dinner for Brown at which he picked up $10,000. Later on the campaign trail when WCVB asked Brown whether or not he knew Lisa Cadden, the wife of the owner of NECC and his hostess at the fundraising dinner, he said, "It doesn't ring a bell." Huh? When the link between a NECC drug and deaths became evident, Brown donated the contribution to charity, but he still took money from a company with a history of wrongdoing. Brown constantly complains that regulations kill jobs, but this time, weak regulations and weak enforcement caused deaths. The victims of NECC didn't have Scott Brown lobbying for them. Elizabeth Warren will be a strong advocate for consumers.

And the asbestos victims didn't have Elizabeth Warren lobbying for them either. But the insurance companies had her on their side! EW stretched the truth about her heritage to get ahead. Brown said he didn't know Lisa Cadden, Warren said she was Cherokee to get ahead. whats worse? Warren is an Obama hack who lied her way up the ladder.

@earnhardt-brown left out this part:

Boston Globe, May 1: Travelers won most of what it wanted from the Supreme Court, and in doing so Warren helped preserve an element of bankruptcy law that ensured that victims of large-scale corporate malfeasance would have a better chance of getting compensated, even when the responsible companies go bankrupt.

After she left the case the lower courts screwed the victims.

??? Brown signing a letter so that a company can provide more product to a consumer market is NOT the reason why people are dead. The reason is becuase it was a poorly RUN company. They had no safty measures in place and if they did they were not following them. Second...The govt agency that was supposed to over see this and other companies like it were NOT doing there job. NECC gave far more money to Deval Patrick and state reps. People that were far more responsible for oversite and safety than Scott Brown.

Scott Brown will win, following the same voting trends of the previous election. The people of Mass are smart enough not to vote for a fake Indian and a law professor who is not licensed to practice law in Mass. She would be an embarrassment to our state. The real poll will be on November 6th.

I've spoken to a lot of people online, and it seems to me that a lot of folks who want her to win do not live in Massachusetts. They want us to have another democratic senator, but they don't care enough about Massachusetts to move here.

Elizabeth Warren Defrauded Asbestos Victims While Practicing Law Without a License

Laws? They’re for little people. Laws don’t apply to Harvard professors. They apply to Harvard janitors.

Compassion? Liberals are great at that. Just ask Elizabeth Warren who was paid nearly a quarter of a million dollars to help Travelers Insurance deny asbestos compensation to asbestos victims… and she did it while practicing law without a license. And wearing a fake Cherokee headdress.

After this latest story, I have a feeling that Elizabeth Warren wishes she had run for the Senate in Oklahoma, instead of in Professor Jacobson’s backyard.

Warren represented not just Travelers, but numerous other companies starting in the late 1990s working out of and using her Harvard Law School office in Cambridge, which she listed as her office of record on briefs filed with various courts. Warren, however, never has been licensed to practice law in Massachusetts.

* Toll takers getting 6 figure saleries
* Lawmakers get lifetime tax funded benifits
* Dead bodies can stay at the bottom of swimming pools for days
* Crime labs can't processes evidence.
* Gov't inspection of drug companies allowed for over 20 deaths nation wide.
* EBT cards being used for eveything but what they were ment for.
* Turning Hotels into section 8 housing while tax payers struggel to get a fraction of such hotel freebees.

This is so well said. The voters of this state as just too passive. Under Deval Patrick even my registration costs are sky high. What does this man do with all the money he gets from this state? What does our democratic congress do with it? How does NH get by with so much less? I am done voting for dems. Enough.

I'm voting Liz Warren because I don't like Browns eagerness to take corporate mooney like that from big oil money, and then flipped from saying he was against big oil subsidies to now being for them with $10 billion middle class tax dollar subsidies. Scott Brown - Proof your vote can be bought! Turns out he'd rather do a commercial with dolphins than one to try to prevent suicide by gay children. Wonderful! He's a poser. I hate posers.
And for the last poster, you do now that Romney "hired" illegals for his landscaping, right? Saved him lots of money!

Where's the proof he hired illegals? Today, its hard to know who is legal or illegal. Why just GAY CHILDREN? Children in general need all the help they can get. straight children commit suicide as well, maybe he felt the message didn't cover a broad enough group. Vote for who you want, but do not complain when it goes wrong and start blaming the other guy. Take responsibility for your own actions and think twice before you cast your vote to be sure that is what you want. As far as the oil is concerned, don't worry, George Soros will have the last laugh and the White House if Obama is re-elected.

The Kool aid drinkers would have you believe that Warren represented Travelers and Steel Case in the best interest of victims? When did an insurance company have anything other than the insurance companies best interests at heart? Elizabeth does not have a law license and it not entitled to practice law in Mass. Elizabeth has the best interest of the little guy at heart yet she was a heartless foreclosure flipper in Oklahoma. She is a graudate of the 82nd ranked law school in the nation yet she works at Harvard Law where no one else is a graduate of anything less than the 8th ranked school in the nation. This person is a professional who has consistantly scammed the system for her benefit and to the detriment of people more qualified than her.

Didn't think you would bite today.. I was getting worried Mikey. Here's a few tings to get you through your day:

Remember to call unemployment to check in. No wonder your Blue panties are showing, you can't afford to have those bennies stop. You can call them on your free Obama cell phone.

When you step outside (even though you never go out you are always on here.) to board the bus right outside the condo, remember it's your mom's Charlie card you are using. Don't lose it!

Oh, and after Friday, you won't be able to use your EBT card for chips and soda anymore until Nov 1st, you are at your limit.

Now enjoy your day. It's time for you to ascend the throne once again as the laughingstock of Patch. As for me. I am off to Cancun until Monday. You see mikey, people who actually work can afford to take mini vacations instead of sitting on Patch all day trying to look intelligent and snarky.. Adios! :)

Warren would literally become the nanny of the nanny state... pushing more burdensome regulations, more useless bureaucracies, higher taxes, mushrooming spending... and all the while telling us in a shrill voice why it is in our best interest. Everything in her background and experience point to this.

Those of you who intend to vote for Romney and/or Brown, keep in mind that you will be supporting the following policies - regaradless of whether R or B claim that they favor them:
1. All abortions will be illegal, even for rape and incest.
2. Birth control will be very difficult to obtain.
3. Social Security will be turned into a voucher program.
4. Medicare will have much less money, so more costs will be paid out of pocket.
5. The rich (especially the super-rich) will get much richer; the poor will get poorer.
6. The military will be bloated, far beyond our actual defense requirements.
7. More teachers, police, firefighters, and other government employees will lose their jobs.
8. The private sector will not create more jobs, because the middle class will not have the wherewithal to buy their products and services.
9. There will be another recession, even worse than the one begun by the last Republican President.
10.The rest of the world - including all our allies - will perceive us as absolutely nuts.
