Waltham Trash Service Delayed One Day

Ongoing snow removal operations have forced the city to delay trash pickup.

Trash pickup service in Waltham has been delayed one day, according to Waltham Mayor Jeanette McCarthy.

As a result of ongoing snow clearing operations in Waltham, McCarthy said all trash pickup service will be delayed by one day this week.

If you have a trash service issue of any kind, you can call the Consolidated Public Works Department at 718-314-3855.

Wait so she delays trash but lifts the parking ban so everyone can park on the streets that her cpw department did a horrid job of clearing (two ways are now one ways). Waltham should be ashamed of the job it did during this storm.

You can always tell when you get to Waltham after any snow storm, the plowing is terrible! Every other town and city can get down to pavement and clear the excess off the streets, but here? This is where your taxes AIN'T going.

I meant 'AIN'T', or are you the grammar police now? Or do you lack the ability to recognize sarcasm when you see it?

Moe is a one trick pony, has nothing critical to impart. Most people do ignore him.

One more reason to dump this mayor and council.

What is the problem with a one-day delay in picking up the trash so that more of the city's crew can do snow clearing? You really expect 30" of snow to disappear in 48 hours?

Snow clearing???? Obviously you didn't drive yesterday around Waltham or neighboring cities and towns to see the glaring differences! If the other municipalities can handle this storm and clean up in 2 days, what the hell is wrong with this city?

Waltham is almost double the size of the other towns. Give them a break.

Newton is 18 square miles and ten times better then our streets. There is no excuse. Ya a couple of streets unplowed or rough, but just about all of them. There needs to be accountability. People sticking up for the guys plowing is a joke. The guy plowing my street has gone up and down my street at least 8 times with his plow up. The director should be ashamed.

manpower is key! These guys worked very hard. The ones who chose to work. Alot of them probably don't want to work cause all you people do is complain! Did you forget We had a blizzard? Stop your complaining!!! people are sick of listening to you. Great job to all of you guys who worked around the clock the last 3 days! Keep up the good work!

Hailey you are kidding right? Every town had a blizzard and their streets are fine. Waltham did a terrible job. The only ones who thought they did a good job was the city workers which I'm thinking you are one.

Hailey, you are clearly a city worker or the spouse of a city worker. Did you happen to try and drive from point A to point B in Waltham Saturday evening or Sunday? Did your car stall out in South Waltham because the streets were not plowed? I had to assist my neighbors push their car because they were stuck in the snow Sunday night. This is a disgrace that our tax dollars are going to "essential employees" who just frequent Dunkin' Donuts and don't actually help out the citizens of their city. There wouldn't be complaints if workers cared to put in the time and effort to make everyone safe. But, alas, I am so glad that you weren't effected by the blizzard!
