I know this was a blizzard, but this is easily the worst job of clearing the roads I've seen in my 10+ years in Waltham. Normally I rave about how good they do, but right now the plows just seem to be driving around with the plows up.

I don't understand why the grocery stores are open? Do not think this is fair to their employees who had to figure out how to get there. With the driving ban earlier, who would have gone anyway? Give everyone the day off and start again tomorrow...

For the ammount and rate of snow that fell last night I think the CPW did a Fantastic Job. I have a few friends who started plowing streets at 2PM Yesterday and went over 24 Hours straight in white out conditions and 2-4" an hour snowfall rates. The CPW never had a chance to keep up with this storm. I have not seen a plow on my main road in the last couple of hours. Hopefully they are getting some well deserved rest. Thanks Waltham CPW.

Oh and if anyone has any complaints they should be directed to the mayor. After the January 2011 snow storms when she complaind about "bad & undersized equipment" she did not by one new truck, plow or sidewalk machine.

Ya great job guys. This is the worst plowing I have seen. Ya kid it's a blizzard, go to Watertown they too had a BLIZZARD but there streets are fine. Carter ya that's good blame the mayor but not the director. He said they did an ok job in another article. What they left out was on his street. Go to moody street then tell me how the plows did. Tell your buddies to go get lessons from Watertown.

Oh ya if you want to complain about the mayor and the equipment, take another look 90 percent of the equipment used to plow the streets are contractors. By the way it's buy not by.

Trapelo Road is great - down to bare pavement. Beaver Street near Bentley is not good. It could use some more plowing. There will probably be a huge traffic jam tomorrow, so leave early!
