Waltham Schools Parent Info Center Moved To High School
Plans initially called for the PIC to move to the former South middle school, but its now located at the high school.
After planning to move the Parent Information Center to the former South middle school, the Waltham Public Schools have instead moved it to Waltham High School, according to Waltham Mayor Jeanette McCarthy.
The PIC reopened on Aug. 20 after moving out of the Henry J. Whittemore Elementary School and into the high school, according to the district website. The move comes two weeks after the City Council approved the district's request to move the PIC to the South school.
There had been some controversy over the move, but McCarthy declined to comment on the matter. Nicholson was at a two-day education conference on Aug. 20 and was unavailable for comment.
The PIC was moved due to space issues at the Whittemore school.
