Waltham Pool To Open Mid-July
No exact date has been given on when the Connors pool in Waltham will open.
After several delays, the Connors Memorial Pool is scheduled to open mid-July according to the state Executive Office fo Energy and Environmental Affairs.
"We’re hoping to open the pool later this month. It was pushed back due to delays related to the roofing." said spokesman Reginald Zimmerman.
While Zimmerman did not give an exact date, State Rep. Tom Stanley said the goal is to open the state-owned pool on July 14.
Workers are wrapping up a $5.3 million renovation of the pool which has been closed for 10 years. The state had hoped to open it during the first week of July.
In the meantime, Waltham residents can seek relief from the heat at any of the city's spray parks.

The following comment was submitted by Waltham Patch reader, Nicholas Bodley:
he Pool isn't yet open, by the looks of it at dusk on Friday, 13 July. There's quite a variety of plants (botanist challenge?!) newly placed. Perimeter fence's been down for days; you can freely walk around the permanent fence and look through it.
Nice to stay off the topsoil; lawn coming?
Go west along the new sidewalk on the north side to see the violet mushroom that makes a tubular water curtain (if no wind); also the tipping buckets! You can hear the buckets splash at night. Kids should love these!
Could be that not all solar panels are connected yet. Willing to bet they were made in China. Solar heater for shower hot water was just being installed in past few days; might not yet be complete. Maybe another week, probably not two.
Underneath that white printed plastic protective coating on some outside wall panels is a nice blue color.
You probably know that it's expected to feed as much power to NStar as it uses, which means zero net power draw in the long run. (Phrase seems to be "Net-zero".)
In all, it's an extremely nice facility! No diving; probably no more than 7 or 8 feet deep at most, if that. Going westward, the bottom slopes gently upward until it's OK for little kids.
