Waltham Man Busted For DUI in Arlington
The suspect allegedly crashed his car at around 5 a.m. in front of an Arlington home.
A 44-year-old Waltham man arrested in Arlington on Friday, March 1 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Douglas M. Tran, a Galen Street resident, was arrested at around 5:44 a.m. on Pleasant Street in Arlington, and charged with operating under the influence (first offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and a marked lanes violation, according to Arlington Police.
Tran allegedly crashed his car at about 4:51 a.m. into bushes in front of Pleasant Street home. Tran, who was not injured, appeared to be drunk on scene and failed a field sobriety test, according to police. He refused a breath test, police said.
Tran’s car sustained heavy damage, according to police. Its driver’s side door and left front tire were completely removed and crushed in the crash, and its airbags deployed, police said.
At the scene, Tran told police conflicting accounts of why he crashed, according to police.
