Waltham High School will attempt to qualify for the new season of WGBH's High School Quiz Show this year, along with 94 other high schools, according to WGBH. 

The teams will gather in Brighton on Nov. 4 for an oral quiz that will narrow the field to 16 teams that will compete in this season of the television show, according to a WGBH press release. 

“It was our hope ton create a showcase for academic achievement that would eventually take hold in communities across the Commonwealth,” Executive Producer Hillary Wells said in a statement.

The show has students answering quiz questions that are based on high school lessons. The show premeires on Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. Billy Costa will host the show.
