Waltham Gas Station Plans Store Expansion
The Shell station on Totten Pond Road plans to expand.
A Waltham business has proposed expanding its Totten Pond Road gas station to include a convenience store.
Steve and John Generoso, who operate the Shell gas station at 511 Totten Pond Road, plans to expand the existing gas station to include a convenience store. The pair is currently running a “snack shop” in the station, but not in accordance with city regulations, according to the their attorney Joseph Connors.
Connors presented the plans during the Monday, Jan. 14 City Council meeting. Since the expansion requires the approval of a special permit, the matter was referred to the Rules & Ordianance Committee.
No new exterior construction would be performed at the site, Connors said, but the Generosos plan to convert an existing auto service bay into more bathrooms and expand the cashier area, Connors said. The pair also plans to add six parking spaces to the existing nine and hopefully hire more full-time and part-time workers. Currently, the store employs six full-timers and one part-timer, Connors said.
Under the expansion plans, the station’s hours would not change. Currently, the hours are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. on the weekends.

I'd walk before I'd buy gas from these price gougers! Don't believe me-compare prices, and I'll bet no one in town charges more for gas!
