According to the Waltham News Tribune's police blotter, Rogelio Cruz was arrested for allegedly snatching a woman's handbag from a shopping cart at the Hannaford market. She was bending over to look at an item on a lower shelf.

To keep this from happening to you, wear a purse with a cross-body strap. If you don't have one with that type of strap, carry your handbag over your wrist at all times while shopping. I am guilty of placing my pocketbook in the kiddie seat of the cart when shopping, but I will never do that again. It just takes a second for a thief to strike!
